Digital Photography & Imaging: Exercise 1

Digital Photography and Imagine: Exercise 1 (Pinterest Designs)

We were asked to choose three graphic designs on Pinterest that caught our hearts. There were so many great designs but I have choose this three designs as I found them interesting and captivating.

First Design:

Figure 1.1: Infographic Poster | Healthy Matcha  (https://pin.it/6somhQF)

Description: Personally, I am a big fan of matcha. This design has a very complimentary colour choices. The green matches with the background which is reddish brown. This could signify red beans, as often time matcha is paired with red beans. Not only that, the design shows how the tea leaves are grinded into powder form to make the matcha drink.

Second Design:

Figure 1.2: Coraline Poster (https://pin.it/3mgGQZy

Description: Coraline has always been one of my favourite movies including the book. The mysterious world has been properly encapsulated in this design with a very unique art style and definitely an interesting approach to Coraline. I like how the design somehow resembles a tarot card. In Coraline's world, it was mysterious and somewhat 'witchlike' as the mum was a witch-spider thing. The design also managed to incorporate creepy crawlers in a unique way by replacing the letter "O" with button, or spider webs as the corner of the tarot card or even the mice as part of the design.

Third Design:

Figure 1.3: Tears of a Goldfish (https://pin.it/5lU3j4y

Description: This design reminded me of my favourite song, "Fish out of Water", where it talks about losing something/someone that you love so much that nothing in the world could replace it and nothing else could fill that empty world or 'bowl' except it. I could see how the girl is placed inside the bowl that could signify that she was willing to bond with the goldfish as she is entering the goldfish's world and they somehow form a deep connection. Looking at the girl's eyes, I could feel like she has finally found something that could make her entire world, regardless of being a fish, whole.
